Audits
An audit is the highest level of assurance accountants provide. At MN Blum we deliver audits with a reasonable assurance that the financial statements of a company are accurately stated. Audits consist of an understanding of the company’s business including internal controls, risks, business processes, evidentiary numerical data, source document examination and verification. Schedules and supporting documents are used to conduct various tests and third-party verification may be required. Audits are an in-depth and detailed assurance service and generally accepted by all lenders.
Reviews
Reviews are conducted to provide a limited level of assurance that no material modifications to the financial statements are necessary. Reviews consist of inquiry and analytical review of financial information and a comparison against the prior year. A broad comparison against similar companies through ratio analysis and non-financial items establishes expectations which are balanced against results. Supporting documentation may be sought to compile the review. Reviews are more thorough than compilations and a step down from audits.
Compilations
We compile of your accounting information and provide them in a financial statement. These statements are frequently used for personal financial statements and are usually acceptable to local banks.
