About Maral Nakashian
Maral Nakashian is the President and co-founder of MN Blum, LLC and has over 22 years of experience in public accounting serving various industries, including real estate developers, homebuilders, property management companies, as well as small businesses. Maral leads the tax department of MN Blum, LLC.
Maral’s common sense approach to client service provides an unparalleled experience by providing easy to understand, practical solutions to a wide array of tax issues. Whether employing strategies to maximize capital gains, minimize state taxes or assisting with understanding the complex provisions of joint venture agreements, Maral maintains a laser-focus on the long-term needs of her clients. Maral also advises multiple foreign investors on the US tax implications related to their investments in the United States.
While devoting much of her time to her work and clients, Maral also serves on the executive board of a non-for-profit organization, the Armenian Relief Society, for the past 15 years. She began as her local Washington D.C. chapter’s treasurer and is now currently on the advisory finance board of the national office, as well as the auditor for the international committee.
Prior to forming MN Blum, Maral spent 11 years at a top 50 CPA firm in the U.S, leading the real estate tax division team as the sole female tax partner in the firm.
Maral is a CPA, a member of the AICPA, and received her undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, and her master’s degree in taxation from American University in Washington D.C. Maral is fluent in Armenian, Arabic and Turkish.
